The Kent Cricket Photograph Collection
Our collection at Canterbury includes an unrivalled collection of photographs of past players, teams and grounds.
Our archive also features images of over 350 players who have appeared in first team cricket, a near unbroken run of team photographs from 1877 and many photographs of grounds which have hosted county matches over the years.
Work is currently in hand to acquire digital versions of each image which can be electronically restored and shared with researchers and journalists alike.
On permanent display in the Pavilion, you will find framed photographs of every men’s capped player from 1882 to date. In 2023, the Kent Cricket Heritage Trust began the task of building a similar photographic archive of our women’s cricketers with the ambition to have a fixed display on the ground at Canterbury. Though we already have over 700+ images in this part of the archive, work continues to find images of players we don’t have and identify lesser known members from the various team photographs we have.
Kent Cricket are happy to supply images of past players and teams for academic and educational purposes. All we ask is for proper accreditation – and a copy of your output for our records.
If you’d like an image for a professional purposes, journalism or publishing, please contact the Heritage Trust for details.
