Education

Working with local schools and colleges

We are keen to work with local schools and colleges to complement work done in the class room. Cricket can help with a range of subjects .

Geography

Where on the UK map will you find the cricket playing counties?, Where are the towns and cities Kent travel to during the course of a season? Where on the globe will you find countries England visit to play Test Matches and one day games?

History

Cricket provides an interesting back-drop to social and economic history. This may be viewed from the distinction between and treatment of Professional and Amateur players or the spread of the game through the UK which closely mirrored the spread of the railway network in the 19th Century.

Maths

Numbers are vitally important to cricket : batting and bowling averages, runs scored per over, win prediction probability rates, and so on.

Science

What makes a cricket ball swing?, How are cricket bats (and balls) made?

Talks

We would be happy to discuss with you possible presentation to groups of students about the history of cricket in Kent – both the men’s and women’s game.

KCHT would also like to work with local history societies by making speakers available for meetings and offer ground tours and facilities on The Spitfire Ground, Canterbury to spread the history of our club.

If you think we can help you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact the Kent Cricket Heritage Trust via the contact page
